The president of ANPC, Csaba Lajos Békési, announced that the institution has started monitoring the commercial markups practiced by fuel distributors, following recent price increases at the pump.

This decision comes after the increase in the price of diesel by 15 bani per liter by Petrom and OMV, followed by Rompetrol, MOL, and SOCAR. Békési explained that operators are entitled to a single price increase per day, until 12:00 PM, and violating these rules can result in fines ranging from 1% to 2% of turnover.

ANPC is collaborating with the Ministry of Finance and the Competition Council to monitor price developments, with a joint order to be issued to facilitate on-site checks. Consumers are encouraged to report any deviations regarding commercial markups.
