The National Meteorological Administration announced that a day and a night with frost is coming, with maximum negative temperatures in most of the country, strong winds, and a risk of ice.

Currently, yellow code warnings for frost and extremely cold weather are in effect, with minimum temperatures forecasted between -20 and -10 degrees Celsius. The warning is valid for most of Moldova, the south and center of Transylvania, Dobrogea, and the south of Muntenia. Elena Mateescu mentioned that the maximum temperatures will vary between -1 and -4 degrees, and in the northern areas and depressions in eastern Transylvania, temperatures may drop below -10 degrees. Additionally, the wind will intensify to 40-50 km/h, and mixed precipitation may favor the formation of ice, especially in the southern regions. The lowest temperatures are recorded in the northern areas, with values of -19° in Joseni and -20° in Târgu Lăpuș.
