Andrei Nemțișor, a 15-year-old student from Iași, achieved a remarkable performance by obtaining 'absolute gold' at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad for Juniors in North Macedonia, with a maximum score. This achievement places him among the best, considering that less than 1% of participants reach perfection. Andrei has been included in the campaign '100 young people for the development of Romania', which promotes young people with exceptional results.
Romania has a strong tradition in mathematics, having won over 330 medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad. Andrei studies at the 'Costache Negruzzi' National College, a competitive educational center. In 2025, he also won other silver medals at international computer science competitions.
