Andreea-Cristina Alecu Gireadă, the daughter of former mayor Verginel Gireadă, won the partial local elections in the Mihai Eminescu commune, obtaining 1,330 votes (41.5%). This continues the Gireadă family's dominance over local administration, which has lasted since 2004. Verginel Gireadă, the former mayor, resigned following a DNA investigation for bribery.

Over the years, the family has alternated in leading the Mayor's Office, with Verginel Gireadă having multiple terms, and his wife, Aneta Gireadă, holding the position between 2012 and 2016. Andreea-Cristina Alecu Gireadă promised an open dialogue with citizens and the continuation of the commune's development, highlighting the unity of her team. She thus takes the reins of the Mayor's Office after almost two decades of family leadership.
