Matthew Whitaker, the U.S. ambassador to NATO, and General Christopher Donahue, the commander of U.S. Army Forces in Europe and Africa, visited Romania, where they met with high-ranking officials, including the Minister of National Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu.
Ambassador Whitaker praised Romania's leadership within NATO and the progress of European allies in strengthening defense capabilities. The multinational exercise DACIAN FALL 2025 was also mentioned, which will involve over 5,000 troops from ten allied nations. The U.S. Embassy reaffirmed the United States' strong commitment to the security of Romania and the strength of the Alliance.
