The Gorj Public Health Directorate fined the Târgu Jiu County Hospital 30,000 lei after the death of a 78-year-old man in an ambulance, finding a violation of health regulations.

The Public Health Directorate (DSP) Gorj imposed a fine of 30,000 lei on the Târgu Jiu County Emergency Hospital (SJU) after a 78-year-old man died in an ambulance during the transfer between two hospital buildings. DSP inspectors conducted checks on November 5, finding non-compliance with legal provisions regarding the organization of the Emergency Reception Unit (UPU).

Following the incident, the police opened a criminal case for manslaughter, and the body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Service for autopsy. Additionally, SJU Târgu Jiu established a disciplinary investigation committee to analyze the circumstances of the death. The hospital management was informed about the incident by a doctor from UPU.
