Singer Alexandra Căpitănescu sent a message of thanks to fans in Moldova who voted for the song "Choke Me". In a post on Instagram, she emphasized that it is not normal for an entire people to be held accountable for the jury's decisions, which awarded Romania only 3 points.
"Thank you to all the fans in the Republic of Moldova for your support and for voting for us. We are not upset with the jury from Moldova who scored as they saw fit, and it is not normal for an entire people to be held accountable for the decisions of those individuals.
Neither the artists nor the presenters are to blame; on the contrary, they showed their support for us, and Moldova voted for Romania. We can’t wait to sing in Chișinău and to collaborate with as many Moldovan artists as we admire since we were little. Congratulations to Satoshi and the entire team that opened Eurovision in the best way possible. We will miss you, but luckily we are neighbors and can visit often," the artist wrote on Instagram.
Alexandra appreciated the support of Moldovan artists and presenters and expressed her desire to collaborate with artists from the Republic of Moldova. Following the scandal related to the jury's vote, the general director of Teleradio-Moldova, Vlad Țurcanu, announced his resignation, wishing to convey a message of solidarity between Romania and Moldova. He explained that the negative reactions affected the institution and considered that resignation is a solution to reduce the tensions created.
