According to the Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, the alert level at the military base in Deveselu has been constantly adjusted in recent times. He explained that the changes are not solely related to the conflict in Iran, but to a broader context of international security.

The alert level, set on a scale from 1 to 5, has fluctuated depending on external developments, with a temporary increase to 2 following the escalation of tensions in Iran. Miruță emphasized that these adjustments are part of a normal reaction mechanism to international events, applicable to all military bases in Romania. The conflict in Iran, which began on February 28, was triggered by attacks from the United States and Israel, which led to the killing of the Iranian supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, thus influencing the global security climate and NATO measures.
