Elena Groșanu issued more than 808 illegal payment orders to her daughter's company and non-banking institutions, embezzling more than 1.5 million lei from public funds. She was sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to pay 1.801.577,85 lei to Corbi City Hall. The accountant tried to negotiate with the mayor to escape the charges.
