A 69-year-old woman died at Pantelimon Hospital after being seriously injured by a cable from the STB network, the incident occurring at the intersection of Calea Dudești - Șoseaua Mihai Bravu, a very busy area in Bucharest. The accident happened when a truck driven by a 19-year-old young man snagged a lowered tram wire, which was nearly two meters below the safety height. The victim was resuscitated for nearly an hour on the asphalt, but although the doctors managed to stabilize her, her heart stopped again in the ambulance. At that moment, an STB team was working in the area, and representatives of the company claim that all safety measures were being followed. The police have launched an investigation to determine responsibility in this tragic case.
