A Romanian woman has been arrested in Italy for robbing elderly people, using sedatives in drinks to put them to sleep.

The 20-year-old woman approached elderly people in Genoa, persuading them to welcome her into their homes. After slipping sedatives into their drinks, she robbed them of money and valuables, including an expensive watch and over €4,500 in cash. The Italian authorities are also investigating the possible involvement of two accomplices.
