In the commune of Calvini, Buzau County, a sheep and cattle pen collapsed under the weight of the snow, resulting in the death of 16 animals. The Buzau Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) carried out a rescue mission, managing to save over 200 animals, including 160 sheep and goats, 50 lambs, 8 cows, 2 pigs, and 6 horses. The intervention was complicated, with crews having difficult access over a distance of approximately 7 kilometers through forest and snow, initially using an ATV and later a UTV.
Unfortunately, following the incident, there were also recorded deaths, including 9 sheep, 1 lamb, 5 goats, and 1 cow. The prefect of Buzau County, Liliana Sbîrnea, announced the incident and coordinated the ISU crews on site.
