The movies 'Zootopia 2' and 'Wicked: For Good' had a significant impact at the box office during the Thanksgiving weekend. 'Zootopia 2' recorded earnings of 156 million dollars from 4,000 theaters, including 96.8 million dollars during the traditional weekend, ranking second in the list of the best Thanksgiving launches. Internationally, the film generated 400 million dollars, including 272 million dollars in China, totaling 556 million dollars globally.
In contrast, 'Wicked: For Good' earned 93 million dollars in its second weekend, with a total of 270.4 million dollars domestically after 10 days. Although it had a strong debut, the sequel failed to maintain the same pace as the first film.
Despite the combined earnings of approximately 293 million dollars, this year's Thanksgiving lineup did not reach the record of 422 million set in 2024. Other films, such as 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery', had modest earnings, and the box office was rounded out by titles like 'Now You See Me: Now You Don't' and 'Predator: Badlands.'
