Condé Nast, the company that owns Vogue magazine, has filed a lawsuit against Dogue magazine, accusing it of trademark infringement due to the similarity with its name and logo. Dogue, a magazine dedicated to dogs, was founded by Olga Portnaya in 2019 and promotes animals turned into stars.
Vogue believes that the similarity between the two brands could mislead consumers and threatens its reputation. Portnaya, who has also launched a fundraising campaign to support her cause, claims that Dogue promotes dogs as protagonists, not as fashion accessories. The legal process could be a long one, considering that Vogue recently released a special issue dedicated to dogs, also titled Dogue.
