Udo Kier, a German actor with a prolific career of over 200 roles in European and Hollywood cinema, passed away at the age of 81, according to an announcement from his partner, Delbert McBride. Kier, known for his portrayals of villains and chilling characters, starred in famous films by directors Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Gus Van Sant, and Lars von Trier. Born in 1944 in Germany, he had a difficult childhood but found his way to acting after being discovered in a café in London. He became known for his role in the horror film "Mark of the Devil" from 1970 and collaborated with important directors, including in productions such as "Flesh for Frankenstein" and "Blood for Dracula." Kier continued to act in successful films in the '90s and was praised for his memorable roles in various productions, including the comedy "Swan Song" from 2022. His last film was "The Secret Agent," and he will also appear in the upcoming horror video game "OD."
