This work, created in 1913 from bronze with a brown patina and gold leaf, is estimated at 100 million dollars, setting a record for a sculpture and for Brâncuși's works. Danaida is considered one of the first modern sculptures, representing an important stage in the artist's career, inspired by Greek mythology. The sculpture, placed on a limestone pedestal, depicts Margit Pogany, Brâncuși's muse. This short film moved the audience in Romania and brought to the forefront Brâncuși's cultural legacy.
