Nicole Kidman, Oscar-winning actress, has announced that she is preparing to become a doula for people nearing death, a decision inspired by the death of her mother in 2024. During a discussion at the University of San Francisco, Kidman explained that, during her mother's aging process, she realized how important emotional and physical support is during these difficult times.
Although this profession is primarily known for the support it provides to pregnant women, in the USA it is also extending to elderly or sick individuals. Kidman emphasized that her desire to provide comfort and care grew after she felt the need to have someone alongside her mother in her final moments. Although she is taking on this new role, the actress does not intend to give up her acting career, continuing to act in films and series, including in the recent series based on Patricia Cornwell's novels.
