Sam Levinson, the creator and director of the series, announced the finale during an interview for The New York Times' 'Popcast' podcast, and HBO confirmed the information.

The last episode, titled 'In God We Trust', aired on May 31. The news was not surprising, considering that the lead actress Zendaya had previously mentioned that she expected the series to end with season 3. The difficulties in continuing the story were highlighted by the success of actors like Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, who have become established stars.

Season 3 advanced the story by a few years, addressing themes such as faith and evil. 'Euphoria' was also the last series in which Eric Dane appeared, who passed away in February 2023.
