The Bonhams auction house will hold an auction dedicated to surrealism on March 26, where the largest painting ever created by Salvador Dalí will be sold, measuring 19 by 30 meters. This work comes from a private collection and has an estimated value of 236,000-350,000 dollars. Dalí created this monumental set for the ballet 'Bacchanale', collaborating with personalities such as Léonide Massine and Coco Chanel.
Although the premiere took place at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1939, Dalí could not attend due to the war. The set, painted with photographic precision, includes symbolic images such as Mount Venus and the Ampurdan Plain. The auction will also include works by other surrealist artists, such as Leonor Fini and Francis Picabia, with estimates ranging from 30,000 to 350,000 dollars.
