A masterpiece by the Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși will be sold at auction in New York, estimated at 100 million dollars. The auctions will be organized by Sotheby’s and Christie’s, which are offering works from important collections, including those of Agnes Gund and Marian Goodman.
Christie’s will hold the first sale session on May 18, including works by Jackson Pollock and Brâncuși, estimated at over a hundred million each. Another sale will take place on May 20, featuring a work by Gerhard Richter.
Sotheby’s will offer masterpieces by Mark Rothko and Jean-Michel Basquiat, as well as a portrait of Brigitte Bardot by Andy Warhol. The auctions cover a wide range of artistic styles, including important works by surrealists and Pablo Picasso.
