The debate about the use of artificial intelligence in the film industry continues to generate controversy. George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars franchise, stated that technology will be an inevitable part of filmmaking, arguing that artificial intelligence facilitates the process of making movies. In an interview, he compared the technological advancement to the transition from horse to car, emphasizing that progress is inevitable.

However, his comments have been criticized, with many considering the analogy inappropriate and pointing out that he created successful franchises without the help of artificial intelligence. Director Christopher Nolan brought into discussion the reactions of the younger generation, who reject the superficiality of artificial intelligence and appreciate the practical effects in filmmaking. Nolan noted an increased interest in more tactile and real stories, suggesting that technology comes at an inconvenient time for the art of cinema.
