The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) has proposed a significant increase in passenger fares, from 3 lei to 5 lei, an increase of almost 70%. The General Council of Bucharest will debate the proposal, and the new fares could come into force this fall. If approved, the measure will make the fare similar to Metrorex tickets. The last fare change took place in 2021, when the price increased from 1.3 lei to 3 lei.
