Students in Timisoara took to the streets to protest the 40% cut in scholarships starting in the fall, bringing symbolic fridges and microwaves for sale. They point out that the budget cuts are seriously affecting their financial situation, and that the decrease in scholarships will lead to an increase in school drop-out rates. The students also complained about the abolition of their right to discounted train travel. Protests continue in the coming days.
