Senators in the Committee on Labor and Social Protection rejected Crin Antonescu's proposal on the modification of service pensions, describing it as a "poorly written draft". USR senator Ștefan Pălărie underlined the lack of consultation with lawyers and magistrates, as well as the lack of conformity with the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court. The draft would have allowed retirement from the judiciary only at the age of 65, a measure considered catastrophic. It will now be rejected in plenary, leaving room for the government to draw up an appropriate reform.
