Nicușor Dan expressed his concern about an INSCOP poll which reveals that over 55% of Romanians see communism in a positive light, while 44.8% believe that life was better before 1989. He points out that nostalgia for communism is fueled by disappointment with the current political class, marked by corruption and lack of transparency. Dan warns that distorted perceptions of the past are fed by misinformation and stresses the importance of historical education to combat these tendencies. He says Romania must learn from the past, not revive it.
