Florin Sirbu, a senior ANAF inspector, has been charged by DNA with influence peddling and false statements, on suspicion of accepting a bribe of €1 million to facilitate a VAT refund to a company. He is also being investigated for the omission of a luxury car from the declaration of assets and for illegally accessing third parties' personal data. Judicial control imposes restrictions and failure to comply can lead to arrest.
