Yu Zidi, the new sensation of swimming from China, set a new Asian record on Tuesday in the women's 200m individual medley, a month after turning 13, during the National Games in Shenzhen.

Talented Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi, at the age of 13, impressed again on Tuesday when she broke the Asian record in the 200m individual medley during a national competition. She recorded a time of 2 minutes 07 seconds 41 at the National Games in China, a multi-sport event held once every four years.

She also becomes the second fastest swimmer of the year worldwide, after Canadian Summer McIntosh, the world record holder.
