After three consecutive defeats in the group stage, the authorities announced a series of severe sanctions against the national team. The Minister of Sports announced in a televised speech the suspension of the national team, the dissolution of its staff, as well as the exclusion of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bruno Ecuele Manga. The video was later removed.
