Spain beat Czechia 3-1 on Saturday evening in Oviedo, in the third round of the Nations League. The victory gave Spain a third consecutive win and first place in Group 3 of the top division, with 9 points. Czechia remain bottom, without a single point after three matches.
Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a spectacular shot from the edge of the box. Czech goalkeeper Kinsky made an excellent save in the 33rd minute from Dani Olmo’s effort, but he could not prevent Rodri from making it 2-0 in the 35th minute.
After the break, Spain reduced the pace, and Slama scored for Czechia in the 69th minute with a shot into the far corner. One minute later, Krejci sent the ball into the net, but the goal was disallowed by Greek referee Vassilis Fotias for a foul in attack. Krejci was sent off in the 85th minute after receiving a second yellow card, and Mikel Merino set the final score in the 89th minute.
