Sorana Cîrstea, ranked 26th in the WTA, was eliminated on Sunday in the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, after an intense match with American player Coco Gauff, ranked 3rd in the WTA. The match lasted for two hours and 21 minutes, and Cîrstea lost with a score of 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Although she fought to stay in the competition, Gauff managed to impose her game in the deciding set. Nevertheless, Cîrstea earned a prize of 54,110 euros and 65 WTA points for her performance in the tournament, thus strengthening her position in the world ranking.
