Sorana Cîrstea, a Romanian tennis player, managed to qualify for the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai, with total prizes exceeding 4 million dollars. In the opening round, Cîrstea defeated Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich, ranked 113th in the world, with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (6), in a match that lasted one hour and 47 minutes.
