Rapid Bucharest won 2-0 away to Botoșani in their first match of the Romanian Cup and took first place in Group A. The goals were scored by Boupendza '35 and Pop '52. Rapid are top of Group A. CFR Cluj, FC Argeș, Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț and CS Afumați each have a point, while FC Botoșani are bottom after their defeat to Giuleș.
