Under the new coach Costin Curelea, Romania U21 will start the 2027 European Championship preliminaries with a match against Kosovo U21 on September 5. The second match will be away to San Marino U21 on September 9. Curelea has announced a preliminary list of overseas players and the final squad will be announced before the official team meeting. Romania U21 are aiming for good results in this qualifying campaign.
