Romania's national team was defeated 3-0 by the Netherlands at the World Cup, after a similar defeat against Poland.

In the second match of Group B of the World Championship, Romania lost to the Netherlands, score 3-0, with sets of 25-23, 26-24, 26-24. The Tricolors also lost the first match, also 3-0, against Poland. The next match will be against Qatar on September 17. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, scheduled for September 23, and the competition will take place with 32 teams, Italy being the defending champion.
