Qatar has offered free packages for transportation, accommodation, and match tickets for approximately 2000 supporters, in an attempt to support their national team at the World Cup.

In the absence of consistent support at the World Cup, Qatar decided to offer free packages to attract supporters in the stands. According to the British publication The Telegraph, approximately 2000 people benefited from these offers, which included transportation, hotel accommodation, and match tickets.

Although the Qatari national team was eliminated from the competition in the group stage after a defeat against Bosnia, the country managed to mobilize a few hundred supporters. The gifts offered by Qatar included not only tickets but also promotional items such as t-shirts, sunglasses, scarves, and flags.

Investigators found that some of these supporters never attended any matches. Qatar initially mobilized about 1000 supporters, with the number increasing to 2000 for the match against Bosnia, including supporters from the USA and Mexico. It seems that the program was extended to also include Qatari students from abroad.
