The organizers of the Miami Open announced that Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the competition due to an injury to his right shoulder. The 38-year-old player recently participated in Indian Wells, where he was eliminated by Jack Draper, and also played doubles alongside Stefanos Tsitsipas, but was eliminated in the second round. Djokovic, with 24 Grand Slam titles to his name, has won the Miami Open six times, making him the most successful player in the tournament's history. His withdrawal means he will not be able to pursue a seventh title, a record, after reaching the final last year but losing to the Czech Jakub Mensik.
