Romano Floriani Mussolini, a 23-year-old defender and great-grandson of former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, scored his first goal for Lazio in their 6-2 victory over Sassuolo. The footballer wears the name “Romano” on his shirt, and his goal in the 16th minute was awarded after a VAR review, following an initial offside call.
Lazio thus secured their eighth victory in the first nine rounds and moved up to second place, with 25 points, level with Inter Milan. Sassuolo played with ten men after Kristian Thorstvedt was sent off. Mussolini has publicly stated that he is not interested in politics.
