Mourning in Romanian volleyball: Former captain Mircea Abraham has died.

The former captain of the Romanian national volleyball team, Mircea Abraham, has passed away at the age of 53, announces the Romanian Volleyball Federation. The message from the national body emphasizes the pain left in his wake, stating that his passing concerns the world of Romanian volleyball.

Abraham had a remarkable career, playing for teams such as Elcond Zalău, Deltacons Tulcea, and Dinamo Bucharest, where he proudly wore the captain's armband. After retiring from his sports career, he continued to contribute to volleyball as a coach, training teams like CS Phoenix Șimleu Silvaniei and being part of the national staff. In recent years, he lived in Ireland, working in the transportation sector.

His death is all the more tragic, considering it occurred a year after the death of his brother. The Romanian Volleyball Federation extends condolences to the family, friends, and those who knew him.
