Mohammad Amini, a player for the SLUC Nancy team, announced that he will not wear the jersey of the Iranian national basketball team in the upcoming international matches, wishing to pay tribute to the Iranian people affected by the recent protests.

In an Instagram post, Amini explained that his dream of representing Iran has been overshadowed by the suffering of his nation, which has recorded hundreds of deaths following protests against the regime.

His decision comes after the captain of the national team, Behnam Yakhchali, made a similar choice, emphasizing that he cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of his people. Yakhchali's coach expressed support for his decision, acknowledging the player's courage.
