Istvan Kovacs, a Romanian referee, will officiate the match Jordan – Argentina, scheduled for Sunday at 05:00, in the final round of Group J of the World Cup. This will be the 70th match of the competition, and Kovacs will be assisted by Mihai Marica and Ferencz Tunyogi on the two lines, while the reserve referee will be Dahane Beida from Mauritania. Kovacs already has experience at this level, having previously officiated the 1,000th match in World Cup history, between Tunisia and Japan, which ended with a score of 0-4. This match represents an important opportunity for the Romanian referee to demonstrate his skills on the international stage.
