Sorana Cîrstea, seeded 28th and ranked 32nd WTA, was eliminated on Monday in the round of 16 of the WTA 1000 in Rome. Cîrstea was defeated by Madison Keys (USA, 16th WTA and 18th seed) 6-2, 6-1. The match was interrupted for about 40 minutes in the second set after a man entered the court and threw confetti.
