The Dolj County Police Inspectorate announced the opening of a criminal case for incitement to violence and discrimination, following the racist messages displayed by the University of Craiova's fans during the match against Rapid, held at the 'Ion Oblemenco' stadium. The messages, which incited hatred on ethnic grounds, were reported by the police, and the case will be supervised by the Prosecutor's Office next to the Craiova Court.

Victor Angelescu, the president of Rapid, firmly condemned these acts, considering them unacceptable and called for harsh measures against supporters who promote racism. He emphasized that, to combat this phenomenon, there must be severe sanctions, given that Rapid has been sanctioned in the past for the behavior of its fans. Angelescu insisted that racism has no place in football or in society and called for a more serious approach in dealing with these incidents.

The controversial messages displayed by the fans of the University of Craiova:

"Do you have a bizarre pigment / Have you all been to the tanning bed?"

"You walk with a painted vulture / But it croaks, it's a drag!"

"The charm of Giulești / After every match, a gathering"

"Rapid was born and raised / The unwanted child from the neighborhood"

"'Green devils' have arrived / Did the road cost all of Șucu?"
