George Buricea will take over from Spain's Xavi Pascual as Romania's national men's handball coach.

Buricea will take over from Xavi Pascual, who stepped down for personal reasons. His primary objective will be to qualify the national team for the World Cup in 2025. The Spanish coach managed to qualify for the European Championship, but the team finished 22nd. Romania will play a play-off against the Czech Republic to qualify for the 2025 World Cup.
