Fenerbahce announced the despair over Jose Mourinho, after the team was eliminated in the Champions League play-off by Benfica.

Fenerbahce was eliminated in the Champions League play-off by Benfica, losing the return leg 0-1, and has dropped into the Europa League. Following this result, the Turkish club announced the parting ways with coach Jose Mourinho, who had led the team since July 2024. Although Mourinho did not win any trophies in Turkey, in the previous season he managed to reach the knockout stage of the Europa League.
