Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named the best FIFA goalkeeper of 2025, marking the first victory for an Italian goalkeeper in the history of this award. In the past year, Donnarumma has had a remarkable run, winning four trophies with Paris Saint-Germain, including a UEFA Champions League final.

On the women's side, Hannah Hampton, from the England national team and Chelsea, has won this award. 

The goalkeeper born in Birmingham and raised in Castellon becomes only the second player from England to win this coveted award, following in the footsteps of Mary Earps in 2022 and 2023.
