SC Popești Leordeni has qualified for the next stage of the Romanian Cup, after a 5-0 win against CS Dinamo Bucharest. The team coached by Petre Pașculea practically resolved the match in the first half, when Mihai Ion scored a hat-trick. Just five minutes after the restart, Taiwo broke free with the goalkeeper, dribbled past him, and sent the ball into the empty net for 4-0. The difference became even greater in the 61st minute. Popești Leordeni was awarded a penalty kick, and Boiangiu converted the penalty to set the final score at 5-0.
Ionuț Chirilă (60 years old) chose to take over CS Dinamo after the club was given the chance to remain in Liga II, even though from a sporting point of view it should have been relegated to Liga III of Romania.
The result extends the difficult start to the season for Ionuț Chirilă's team. CS Dinamo had lost the first two matches in Liga 2, 1-2 against CS Afumați and 1-5 against CSM Slatina, and now suffered another heavy defeat.
