The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz achieved a convincing victory against the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, with 6-4, 6-1, at the ATP Finals in Turin, thus securing his ATP No. 1 position at the end of 2025. At just 22 years old, Alcaraz becomes the second active player, after Novak Djokovic, to finish the year in the top position multiple times. This season, he has won eight titles, including Roland Garros and the US Open, becoming the youngest player in the Open Era with six Grand Slam trophies.

In the other match, Alex De Minaur managed to defeat Taylor Fritz with 7-6(3), 6-3, thus keeping his chances of qualifying for the semifinals alive. This is the Australian's first victory at an ATP Finals, after five defeats.
