Austria started the World Cup football tournament this summer with a convincing victory, defeating Jordan 3-1 in Group J.
The match took place in a competitive atmosphere, with coach Ralf Rangnick's team opening the scoring in the 20th minute through Romano Schmid. Jordan managed to equalize in the 50th minute, thanks to Olwan. However, the Austrians regained the lead in the 77th minute when Yazan Al Arab scored an own goal. In the end, Arnautovic sealed the score with a penalty goal in the 102nd minute.
In the next round, Austria will face Argentina, while Jordan will play against Algeria.
