According to the publication 'Volna', the organizers of the Trail Kuršių Nerija race, scheduled for October 17, have established strict rules for participants from Russia and Belarus.
The names of the two states are written in lowercase in the regulations, and citizens of these countries can participate only if they meet four conditions: a written condemnation of Russia's military actions, presentation of a Lithuanian residence permit, acceptance of displaying the Ukrainian flag on the competition number, and renunciation of prizes or rewards.
The organizers reserve the right to reject documents without explanation, and the participation fee will be refunded later. In Lithuania, the debate regarding the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in competitions has been intense, and currently, they can compete only if they express support for Ukraine and do not use national symbols.
