Companies Intuitive Machines and SpaceX will attempt to send a lunar lander called Nova-C to the moon carrying NASA-developed scientific instruments. This would be the first US lunar landing since the Apollo program. Moon landing is a complex operation due to the absence of atmosphere, which requires the use of thrusters for a controlled descent.
